ITB teams across the APAC region gathered in Singapore to share key insights on latest trends and developments with clients

International Trade & Transaction Banking (ITB) teams across the APAC region gathered in Singapore to share key insights on latest trends and developments with clients during the annual GTR Asia conference held on 8-9 September 2026. Leveraging this event, the Bank also organises its own client networking event and an internal seminar to amplify our market leading position in the trade finance sector.

Crédit Agricole CIB ITB global management including Dominique Honoré, Head of Global Trade & Commodities (GTC), and Vincent Gancel, Deputy Head of GTC, flew from Head Office to Singapore to join the regional and local teams to engage our clients for trade finance in Asia Pacific.

Sharing key market updates on trade finance market at GTR Asia conference

GTR is one of the major magazines for the trade finance industry, offering a one-stop shop platform for trade finance professionals to exchange insights. Crédit Agricole CIB ITB once again took part in the signature annual GTR Asia conference which was a valuable opportunity to strengthen our market leading position in the industry and build connections with key clients in the region. Over 40 key clients were registered as guests under the Bank, nearly doubled of the amount last year and showcasing our growing client relationship in the region.

As a top-tier player in the market, we were invited by GTR to share our views on the role of commodities in the energy transition, alongside other key peers and corporates. Fabien Lautodé, Deputy Head of Global Trade & Commodities for APAC, has joined the panel as one of the key speakers.

Citation

“The role of commodities is central to whether the energy transition will succeed or fail. Behind every solar panel, EV battery and wind turbine is a commodity supply chain. Whilst recycling and circular economy will play a part in reducing environmental footprint, further regulation and harmonization of standards will also be required. Frameworks such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism will help to promote the sourcing of less carbon intensive material. It will potentially reshape access to markets and commodity trade flows. It is critical for banks to understand the fundamentals of commodity markets and cycles to come up with the proper solutions to support clients, be it in term of working capital and liquidity support, or specific trade finance and supply chain financing solutions. Ecological transition being at the heart of its development model, Crédit Agricole CIB remains committed to support and partner with clients in their sustainability journey.”
