Supporting True IDC on one of the largest greenfield data centre developments in Thailand
This also marks the Bank’s debut data centre financing in Thailand, further expanding its strong track record across Asia-Pacific markets.
Crédit Agricole CIB supported True Internet Data Center (True IDC), Thailand’s leading data centre and cloud service provider and a strategic joint venture under leading Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock, in its US$530 million financing to fund the development and construction of a new greenfield hyperscale data centre in Rayong, Thailand.
The joint venture in True IDC has been set up to help elevate Thailand’s digital infrastructure transformation to the global stage, in an effort to position the nation as Southeast Asia’s leading digital economy hub.
The project marks Crédit Agricole CIB’s first ever greenfield data centre financing in Thailand. This deal, in which Crédit Agricole CIB played key roles as Mandated Lead Arranger, Bookrunner and Underwriter, and Hedge Provider demonstrates Crédit Agricole CIB’s leadership in telecommunications and digital infrastructure financing in Asia-Pacific, and commitment to facilitating digital transformation of Southeast Asia.
We are delighted to have supported True Internet Data Center (True IDC), a strategic JV between Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) by providing financing for the development of a new greenfield hyperscaler data centre in Thailand. This project represents a major milestone in the Thailand data centre market being one of the fastest growing markets in Southeast Asia.
