In recognition of the IMO International Day for Women in Maritime, celebrated globally on May 18th, the Bank hosted its third Women in Maritime event in its London premises on May 21st. This year’s theme focusing on “Moving forward”.

The event was chaired by Michelle Mahmood, Director, Shipping & Offshore Finance and started with Olivia Watkins of Veson Nautical Ltd, who presented a market overview, followed by a round table discussion with Kathleen Haines of Genco Shipping & Trading Ltd, Ingrid Due-Gundersen former CEO of Havfram AS, Micha Withoft of Scorpio Tankers Inc., Marina Marin-Rudić of Tankerska Plovidba d.d. and Jacqueline Chao of Wah Kwong Maritime Services (UK) Co. Ltd.

It was an insightful knowledge sharing session that brought together inspiring female leaders for a series of engaging and meaningful discussions about the current opportunities and challenges for the industry, as well as insights and ideas to foster more female engagement. The panel discussion was followed by a networking event.

A big thank you to our panellists for sharing their experience in a passionate and engaging manner.  Once again highlighting the vital role women play in an exciting and vibrant sector.

We are incredibly proud to host an event to highlight the important contributions women make to the shipping industry, and to encourage greater female engagement across all facets of our vibrant and captivating sector. Collaborating with our peers to bring together our diverse community is immensely gratifying, and the enthusiastic support we receive from both our panellists and attendees clearly demonstrates the event's value. Much thanks to our panel, Julie Gault, Lisette Holm and Rebecca Hudson for creating such an engaging and fun event!
