The Bank has been committed to offer best-in-class solutions by challenging benchmarks and seek breakthroughs.

Prominent financial publication FinanceAsia recently named Crédit Agricole CIB the Best International DCM Bank in Hong Kong SAR as well as the Best International Sustainable Bank in mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, and Taiwan for the year 2025. It is the third consecutive year for Crédit Agricole CIB awarded Best International Sustainable Bank in Mainland China, and the second consecutive year winning the Best International Sustainable Bank in Hong Kong SAR title.

Reaching the top in the Hong Kong debt capital markets

Crédit Agricole CIB witnesses a massive success in Hong Kong debt capital markets the last few years, progressing from below 10 to top 3 across league tables in the Hong Kong market. As Crédit Agricole CIB commits to striving for excellence, the Bank has broken its records in debt capital markets in 2024 – reaching top 3 in Investment Grade bonds for G3 currencies in Asia, consistently maintaining top 2 in green, social, sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds in Hong Kong, as well as top-ranking positions in HKD and CNH bonds league tables, while being one of the most active foreign banks in the Southbound Bond Connect and Swap Connect schemes.
The Bank’s excellence has spread in the industry, as numerous clients, including new clients, mandate Crédit Agricole CIB in landmark deals. To date, Crédit Agricole CIB has captured approximately 90% market share among Hong Kong public bond issuances and had led all Hong Kong public bonds transactions in 2024.

Notably, Crédit Agricole CIB has continued to act as the green structuring bank and joint global coordinator on all Hong Kong SAR Government’s institutional green bond issuances, and acted as the social, green and sustainability structuring advisor on all social issuances issued by the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation. Nonetheless, Crédit Agricole CIB acted as the sole sustainable structuring advisor for the Hong Kong Urban Renewal Authority on its inaugural Sustainable Finance Framework and priced a triple-tranche HK$12 billion senior bonds for the Hong Kong Urban Renewal Authority in August 2024, underscoring its leadership.

Ongoing excellence for sustainable finance

Despite being the top sustainable finance bank in the region, Crédit Agricole CIB challenges the benchmark it has set, and continues to seek innovation and breakthroughs, as it tightens its ESG governance by introducing a new ESG Analytics Team in 2024 internally to manage ESG data. The Bank also achieved continued success in deploying its novel ESG-linked deposit account, which has expanded into six Asia-Pacific markets within one year.
In mainland China, the Bank structured the world’s first-ever syndicated sustainability-linked loan for an aircraft lessor for CDB Aviation, as well as the first offshore Common Ground Taxonomy-aligned green bond issuance by a Chinese financial lessor, supporting companies in hard-to-abate sectors on their energy transition.

In Taiwan, where Crédit Agricole CIB wins the FinanceAsia Best International Sustainable Bank for the first time, the Bank introduced the inaugural EU-Taxonomy-aligned green loan in Asia-Pacific for E-Ink to support its sustainable product development of ePaper, one of the most energy-efficient display technologies globally. Not to mention, to date, Crédit Agricole CIB is the only bank that has financed all offshore wind farm projects in Taiwan.

Beyond innovating solutions, the Bank has also been sharing knowledge and experience with the wider market for a mass achievement. Crédit Agricole CIB is one of the five, and the only French, cornerstone members of The Alliance for Green Commercial Banks, co-launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the International Finance Corporation.

“We’re delighted to be recognised by FinanceAsia as the Best International DCM House in Hong Kong SAR. Our top-notch capabilities and track record in debt capital markets and sustainable finance are evident as shown in our leadership position, as we stay committed to the Hong Kong clients and markets.”
