Crédit Agricole CIB acted as Lead Arranger and Hedge Provider in the successful closing of Waga Energy’s $180 million 4-year senior debt facility. This new tailored financing supports the construction and operations of the company's portfolio of assets in the United States.

On November 26th 2025, Crédit Agricole CIB closed a new financing facility to support Waga Energy’s landfill gas (LFG) to renewable natural gas (RNG) platform across the United States. Waga Energy’s portfolio of assets in the United States boasts 13 signed gas rights with landfill operators, two operational WAGABOX® units, and 11 projects under construction. HSBC Asset Management supported the financing serving as co-lender.

Waga Energy, founded in 2015, is an innovative producer of renewable natural gas from landfill waste headquartered in Eybens, France. Crédit Agricole has been a long-time partner of the Company since its first operations in France. In September 2025, Waga Energy has been taken private by EQT, one of the largest purpose-driven global investment organization with over €266 billion in total assets under management.

This landmark transaction underscores Crédit Agricole CIB's leading expertise in delivering bespoke financing to support energy transition.

After several months of productive discussions, this financing supports the expansion of an innovative French biogas producer into the U.S. market. This was made possible by the effective cooperation between our Clean Energy, Coverage SME (France), and MNC (New York) teams.
