Climate adaptation conference: from physical risks to adaptation finance

Sustainable finance

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Sustainable Banking and ESG Research teams hosted a comprehensive virtual conference dedicated to Climate Adaptation.

This conference brought together leading voices from the public and private sectors to address the growing, systemic challenges of climate adaptation and resilience.

The event featured high-level representation from key public institutions, corporate representatives, institutional investors and industry experts, all committed to accelerating climate adaptation.

Introducing the conference, Diane Simiu from the French Ministry for the Ecological Transition, provided valuable insights into national climate adaptation policy and the scaling of macro policy into funding and local action.

Our Sustainable Finance and ESG Research teams moderated three deep-dive panel discussions:

  • “Managing physical climate risks and their implications for financial institutions”: addressing how institutional investors can move beyond identifying and assessing physical risks toward tangible investments in climate adaptation and resilience.
  • “The role of public sector issuers in driving climate adaptation and resilience finance”:  exploring how public sector issuers can contribute to climate adaptation and sustainable finance initiatives.
  • “Integrating physical climate risks into corporate strategies and decision-making frameworks”: examining how companies can manage asset-level physical risks and embed climate-related physical risks into their strategic planning and long-term business processes.

This conference reinforces Crédit Agricole CIB's commitment to advancing sustainable finance solutions and supporting clients in navigating the interconnected complexities of climate transition and adaptation.

With 300 registered participants, our virtual conference brought together high-level speakers to address a critical market challenge: translating exposure to climate physical risks into quantifiable financial impacts and adaptation measures across asset classes. The event successfully advanced knowledge and best practices in climate adaptation - a field where the stakes are rising as rapidly as the complexity.
